What treatments are offered

I provide specialized short- and long-term trauma-focused care, including trauma assessments, acute response support, and guidance for children, teens, adults and parents navigating transitions and adjustments. Other treatments include supporting individuals with anxiety and OCD. My approach combines evidence-based treatments with creativity and collaboration to help clients achieve meaningful progress. I offer treatments in both English and Turkish.

  • I support individuals experiencing acute stress and PTSD, including symptoms such as intrusive memories, flashbacks, nightmares, hypervigilance, emotional numbness, and avoidance that interferes with daily life. We address stress and trauma from recent or past events, including accidents, medical trauma, interpersonal violence, loss, and other distressing experiences—helping clients regain a sense of safety and control.

  • I treat anxiety that shows up as constant worry, panic attacks, physical tension, and avoidance that limits daily life, including generalized anxiety disorder, agoraphobia, separation anxiety, social anxiety, and phobias—like fears of vomiting, injury, needles, or blood.

  • I treat obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) that shows up as distressing obsessions, compulsions, and intrusive thoughts. This includes contamination fears, harm OCD, “just-right” rituals, taboo or unwanted thoughts, and compulsive behaviors that disrupt daily life.

  • I provide evidence-based support to help parents navigate the challenges that arise after a stressful or traumatic event—guiding you to respond with calm, set consistent routines, and support your child’s emotional recovery, even when your child is anxious, withdrawn, or resistant.

  • I provide evidence-based support to help parents manage anxiety-driven patterns at home and create sustainable routines that reduce distress—building confidence even if your child resists therapy or struggles to participate.

  • Supportive therapy offers a steady, nonjudgmental space to navigate stress, transitions, and emotional challenges. For kids and teens, it builds emotional skills and confidence while guiding caregivers toward consistency at home. For adults, it provides validation and practical strategies to manage overwhelm and move forward. It’s flexible, relationship-centered care that meets you where you are.

  • Bilingual treatment in Turkish offers therapy in your preferred language while honoring the cultural values and experiences that shape you. This approach helps clients express themselves more fully, explore identity and family dynamics, and receive evidence-based care without language barriers. It creates a more authentic, comfortable space for healing and growth.

  • Culturally attuned treatment recognizes that your background, values, traditions, and lived experiences shape how you understand stress, relationships, and healing. This approach integrates cultural awareness into every step of care—honoring your identity, addressing the impact of immigration and family dynamics when relevant, and adapting evidence-based treatments so they resonate with your worldview. It creates a therapeutic space where you feel understood, respected, and supported as your whole self.

If you prefer to use your insurance, I can also provide a Superbill (an itemized receipt) for you to submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Payment is due at the time of each appointment, and any reimbursement would be handled directly by your insurance provider.

Some helpful questions to ask your insurance company:

    • Do I have a separate deductible that needs to be met before these benefits kick in?

  • I offer secure and HIPAA-compliant telehealth sessions across Connecticut, New Jersey, Montana, Idaho, and Missouri.

  • ERP is an intervention used within CBT, particularly for OCD, where individuals are gradually exposed to triggers and learn to refrain from safety-seeking behaviors, reducing anxiety over time.

  • SPACE is an evidence-based protocol that works exclusively with parents to help reduce child anxiety and OCD symptoms. Research has shown that when parents make intentional and targeted changes in response to a child’s anxiety symptoms, their symptom severity reduces. This is a great protocol for all parents to learn, and especially important for parents who have kids that are not willing to engage in treatment.

  • Circle of Security is an evidence-based program designed to help parents strengthen their relationship with their child and support healthy emotional development. Research shows that when parents understand and respond to their child’s emotional needs in a consistent and attuned way, children show improvements in attachment, behavior, and emotional regulation. This program is valuable for all parents, and especially helpful for those whose children may struggle to express emotions or engage fully in treatment.

  • Child and Family Traumatic Stress Intervention (CFTSI) is a brief (5-8 sessions) evidence-based intervention designed to help children and adolescents who have recently experienced a traumatic event. It works with both the child and their caregivers to reduce the risk of developing long-term post-traumatic stress symptoms. CFTSI focuses on improving communication, identifying and managing trauma-related stress reactions, and strengthening family support to promote recovery.

Frequently Asked Qs

  • I highly encourage all parents of minors to engage in 4–6 parent sessions. Trauma, Anxiety and OCD problems impact the entire family and the role that a parent plays in helping their child is critical to effective outcomes. Often times, the ways that feel natural to respond to anxiety (reassurance, helping, etc.) can increase anxiety over time. Parents need to learn strategies to use that will help reduce anxiety over time, not just provide the quick fixes that grow anxiety.

    • 6 - 17 years old | Parent coaching using Circle of Security, Mentalization-Based Therapy and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE)

    • 6–17 years old | Individual and family sessions; parent involvement varies

    • 18 years and older | Individual therapy with optional family involvement

    • 18 years and older | Young adults and adults seeking for support.

  • Yes. One of the most effective early interventions is the Child and Family Traumatic Stress Intervention (CFTSI). CFTSI is a brief, evidence-based treatment provided within 30–45 days after a traumatic or highly stressful incident.

It involves the child and a safe caregiver and focuses on improving communication, strengthening support, and teaching coping skills to reduce symptoms early. CFTSI typically includes 6–8 sessions and has been shown to significantly lower the risk of developing PTSD.

  • These times are popular and may not be immediately available. However, I am flexible and will work with you to find the best time. Starting with a less-ideal time can help prioritize you for later openings. Schools may allow virtual sessions during study hall or other preferred times.

  • CBT is a psychotherapy model that helps individuals understand the connection between thoughts, behaviors, body sensations, and emotions, enabling them to manage emotions more effectively.

  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is an evidence-based treatment that helps children, teens, and adults process traumatic experiences, manage distressing thoughts and feelings, and develop healthy coping skills in a safe and supportive environment.
